What is Athlete's Foot?

Athlete's Foot, or Tinea Pedisis, is a fungal infection. It tends to develop on the bottom of the feet and inbetween the toes. It is a very common problem that can last for either short or long periods of time. There are many treatments for athlete's foot yet it can still be difficult to eradicate.

  • Anti-fungal treatments (creams / sprays / powders)
  • Mild steroid cream

Causes

 
  • Wet feet / not drying properly
  • Sweating
  • Unclean feet
  • Weakened immune system
  • Diabetes
  • Sharing towels / socks / shoes with others
  • Walking barefoot

 

Symptoms

  • Itching
  • Redness
  • Rashes
  • Pain / burning sensation
  • Skin cracks
  • Blisters
  • Skin peeling
